I've been reading about soap making, but the lye used in many recipes looks like it's not to be trifled with. Is it necessary to use lye? What are some successful recipes? I dropped by Wayward Council in Gainesville and found some hand made soap that turned out to be good. It was easy to tell it was hand made by the irregular design, but it was much better than many commercial soaps.<br />

I'm gonna be starting my first veggie garden as soon as we get moved in to our new house. Anybody out there have advice on how best to start? Should I go the organic garden route? What advantages have you found by going organic?
