Accomplished teachers will facilitate workshops on various earthskills including:
Palm weaving/ grass thatchingKnitting/netting/knotting loom work (blankets/rugs)
Fire starting and cooking.  Plant and mushroom walks.  Herbal medicine
Pine and bark basketsNatural earth constructionMusic makingHide tanning
Humanure compostFood Preservation and fermentationPermaculture principles
Childrens activities

Some teachers that will facilitate workshops include myself (Mycol), Susan Marynowski, Willy Losen, Miranda, Kaleb, and many more to come!
Note: there will be a (TBA) person limit

 

A gathering to share the ancient and endangered knowledge necessary to live in harmony with each other and the natural world.

Finca Mycol is an ecocentric permaculture off-the-grid 20-acre homestead that along with permaculture happenings works on ecological      restoration efforts. This event is the first of its magnitude on the finca and we believe we can all self organize an incredibly rewarding and positive happening.  Please leave negative energy behind and be in positive learning and sharing attitude.

Please note:

  • please be kind to the land and pack in and pack out
  • no cigarette buts
  • parents with children at the skillshare will be asked to contribute in part to children's activities
  • bathrooms will be humanure compost
  • fire's will be limited to certain areas, please respect restoration sites and do not start additional fires
  • parking is limited, please shareride if possible and follow guides when approaching the property
  • camping set-up is available starting Wednesday Jan. 26, activities begin Thursday Jan 27 at noon
  • Please contact ahead of time and register by giving your word, space is limited and nearing capacity

Please bring:

  • no dogs please, goats welcome; we are in need of milking goats and willing to trade
  • headlamps, camping gear, decent shoes, and warm clothes recommended ( winter temp. can reach mid 20's)
  • collective meals will be provided, please being a contribution to share, trade circle and freecycle intended
  • If possible, rocks are needed for sweat lodge activities, as the Florida landscape does not have an abundance of rocks
