This is Bucky. He is Andrew's dog. He is the tough guy. Mojo is the blonde, he is the baby and mine. Bucky has a really interesting story. He is a survivor. We love him very much. They are blessings.

We are having an open house this Sunday from 1-3.

A little more about me and my house...

Hello! My name is Abby. I live in the brick bungalow across the street from the McRorie Community Garden. I have lived here for about six years. I love our neighborhood! :)
I share my home with my boyfriend Andrew and our two furry children Bucky and Mojo. They have probably barked at you if you are working in the garden. They take their doggie jobs seriously.

You might see us out there working on the house from time to time. You are welcome to stop by and quench your thirst or share in some good conversation.

Andrew is graduating from the Aerospace Engineering program at UF this semester. We will be moving soon for his work. This is why my home is now for sale. I've listed the zillow website with facts and figures about our home above. If you are interested in living in the BEST neighborhood in Gainesville (yeah, I'm a little biased) check us out one day while visiting the garden.

Best of luck to all of you in your organic gardening adventures!

Abby

Hi Abby! Glad you *finally* made it to Zoobird. I took a photo of you, Andy and the dog a long time ago. If you look through the photos here in the Photos section, you'll find it. I didn't know you wrote fiction! Please check out the Writing Zoo. You can join these groups. Welcome, and I hope to see you all over the place here! Here's a little gift - you'll recognize it from the garden:

I hope Andy joins, too.
All the best, Mike

Get Spiritual, Eat Sweet, or Give Kombucha a Kick ::: You Pick!

How many times have you passed signs that call out “You Pick”? Did you stop? I suggest you do. Here’s the drill: pull over, park it (a bike? Nice!) and walk in. Say hi, stretch your body and grab a bucket. Walk over to a tree full of fruit and eat a little. Most places don’t mind at all if you eat a bunch *and* buy some.

Go hungry! Things taste better when you’re hungry. Don’t worry about what you’re going to take with you. Just eat as much as you want. It’s good for you. So is being outdoors. Ken Wilber

Wilber's holism:::A key idea of Wilber's is the holon, which came from the writings of Arthur Koestler. He observed that it seems every entity and concept shares a dual nature: as a whole unto itself, and as a part of some other whole. For example, a cell in an organism is a whole and at the same time a part of another whole, the organism. Another example is that a letter is a self-existing entity and simultaneously an integral part of a word, which then is part of a sentence, which is part of a paragraph, which is part of a page; and so on. Everything from quarks to matter to energy to ideas can be looked at in this way...

Kale and Tomatoes | WholeFoodsMarket.com

In Kenya, this dish is called sukuma wiki, named after the dark, leafy greens from which it's made. The name translates roughly to "push the week," implying the ingredient's stellar ability to stretch meals, making them last to the end of the week.
