Zoma's Sauerkraut

Zoma makes some mighty fine kraut! I just bought some and it's good. It has a light, appealing flavor and it's delicious. I got mine at a local (to Gainesville, FL) place called The Community Co-op, which is a community owned store that does its best to offer high quality, locally…

Favorite Photos of 2011

Otter

This is my favorite photo from 2011. Otters frolicking at Alexander Spring in Florida. Tough choice! Alexander Spring is an incredibly nice camping spot. This was on a full moon weekend. We canoed in the moonlight, cooked over an open fire. It doesn't get any better than Alexander Spring, but it's worth trying!

What are your favorite photos and times from last year?…

The Dudley Historic Farm

One of my favorite places is the Dudley Historic Farm in Alachua County, Florida. It's so beautiful!

The farm is preserved and looks just like it did years ago when we lived in a more self-sufficient world. You can see in the picture above that the home is surrounded by gardens. There, even today, you'll see live crops of veggies…

Dreaming of Black Creek

I've been excited like a little kid since I got my new bike Monday. The short story is I love riding bikes. Bill Hannahs told me about this bike he noticed for sale sort of near me. It was in Florida, at least. So, I drove up the coast of the panhandle to Freeport, FL and wound up getting it. To me, riding a bike is a lucky situation that I can take advantage of because I am usually within biking… Continue
