Dangerously organic!

I went to our local weed and seed the other day looking for sprouts and ideas for my garden. The guy there helping me suggested I wait until the hot weather subsides before planting anything else. He also strongly suggested using some of their fertilizer on my patch.

Our community garden is organic, so we use mostly horse manure, bat guano and worm poo. You can tell a huge difference in the health and happiness of the plants when they get proper nutrition.

It just takes a second and a little discipline to work composting into your habit. Organic compost makes great fertilizer.

My tomato plants yielded some more delicious tomatoes this week. I am so happy when I go to the garden and see beautiful produce in my patch ready to harvest. This season, my successes were mainly with the tomatoes, spinach and delicious basil.

How about you? Please take a moment and give us some blog content here on Zoobird. We love hearing about your adventures!
