DESCRIPTION:\nThe inaugural Florida Herbal Conference features over 30
  workshops for all levels of interest and experience.\nWorkshops focus
  on bioregional, earth-centered herbalism, with topics including cli
 nical herbalism, herbal crafts, medicine making, plant identification 
 walks and many hands-on demonstrations.  The weekend also includes am
 azing evening music, a dynamic herbal marketplace, herbal activities d
 uring free time, guided movement activities, a fire circle, and region
 al mixers.\nThe Florida Herbal Conference is intended to provide a wee
 kend for herbal enthusiasts of our southern state to learn, connect, 
 and deepen their roots through education, fellowship, and community 
 in nature.\nEnjoy three days of classes and hands-on workshops taught 
 by some of the most knowledgeable, inspiring and exciting of teachers.
   Meet your regional neighbors and build networking and relationships
 .  Enjoy time at the lake and on a plant hike, or take a movement cla
 ss to get grounded and centered in your own healing.   With a focus 
 on the healing flora of Florida, our conference seeks to not only edu
 cate but to advocate for the conservation and preservation of our bior
 egional ecology, to begin the process of healing ourselves and each ot
 her as we also heal the planet.\n\nThe inaugural Florida Herbal Confer
 ence will be hosted March 23-25, 2012, at the beautiful Camp Kiwanis o
 n Mill Dam Lake in the Ocala National Forest.\nCamp Kiwanis is located
  on Mill Dam Lake in the Ocala National Forest. The facility was first
  used as a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp for workers during t
 he 1930s. The camp later served as a quarantine hospital during World 
 War II.   In 1948 the local Kiwanis club opened Camp Kiwanis with a f
 ocus on providing a fun and safe summer camp for children.\nA wooden d
 ining pavilion was added in 1952, and air-conditioned dormitories were
  later built to replace aging wooden cabins. Portable classrooms, a pl
 ayground, archery range, and sports fields have also been added over t
 he years. In 2003, a large multi-purpose pavilion replaced the old woo
 den dining hall. In operation for over 60 years, Camp Kiwanis has prov
 ided summer fun to generations of kids.\n\n\nFor more information visi
