SUMMARY:Tour de KSC - Bike Ride at NASA!
DESCRIPTION:On October 17, 2009, bicycling enthusiasts will have a cha
 nce to join together and tour the Kennedy Space Center on their bikes;
  to promote cancer awareness and the benefits of exercise and good hea
 lth. If you were inspired by the Tour de France, then hop on your bike
  and get ready for the Tour de KSC!\n\nThe Tour de KSC will take place
  Saturday, October 17th from 8 a.m. â€“ noon. This event is a bike tou
 r. It is not a race.\n\nThere will be three different tours of differe
 nt lengths (12 miles, 23 miles and 37 miles). Participants will elect 
 to ride one of these tours. The tour groups will be further subdivided
  into pace groups depending on the speed at which participants plan to
  ride. In total, there will be 7 different options of length and pace.

 n* Tour de KSC will take place October 17. In the event of weather or 
 operational conflicts an alternate date will be selected.\n* Tours wil
 l start at the KSC Visitor Complex (VC). There will be:\no Two (2) 12 
 mile tours, 9-12 mph & 13-16 mph (VC to VAB and back).\no Three (3) 23
  mile tours, 10-12 mph & 13-15 mph & 16-18 mph (VC to Pad B and back).
 \no Two (2) 37 miles tours, 16-18 mph & 19-21 mph (VC to SSPF to Pad B
  to SLF and back).\n* Each tour group will be chaperoned by two (2) KS
 C badged employee volunteers.\n* Photo opportunities will be available
  at Stop And Goes (SAGs) strategically located at (the Vehicle Assembl
 y Building (VAB), and the Launch Pad).\n* Tours will be completed in f
 our (4) hours or less.\n* Start times will be staggered to keep the to
 ur groups separated.\n\nParticipation:\n\n* Cost of the Tour de KSC ti
 ckets is $20.00 and includes a t-shirt, and food / refreshments at the
  start and finish. $5 of each registration price will be considered a 
 one-time, charitable donation to the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). 
 These contributions will be considered undesignated contributions and 
 will be distributed according to CFC regulations.\n* Badged employees 
 may purchase tickets for up to three guests. Badged employees and thei
 r guests must stay together. Tickets can be purchased in the HQ Lobby 
 or the MFF cafeteria from 11-1 on Wednesdays â€“ Fridays from Sept 9 â

  to make special arrangements if you cannot make these times. Tickets 
 purchased after this date do not ensure a t-shirt.\n* Registration beg
 ins at 7:00 a.m. at the Visitor Complex.\n* Important: Badged Employee
 s and their guests must stay together at all times while On-Center. Em
 ployees are solely responsible for their guests.\n* Volunteers who rid
 e do not have to pay, and may bring up to three (3) paying guests. Vol
 unteers must stay with their guests at all times.\n* A waiver of liabi
 lity and hold harmless agreement is to be signed by all participants a
 nd turned in at registration on the day of the event.\n* Sweeper truck
 s will be available to pick up and transport stragglers, broken down b
 ikes or injured bicyclists.\n* Participants must be at least twelve ye
