Homegrown disaster relief effort Barrels of Hope, will be returning to Haiti again next week.

BOH will be returning to Jacmel to finish construction on their second Haitian earthbag house, started last August. Accompanying them will be 30 mostly UF volunteers on their spring break trip with From Gainesville With Love.  Barrels of Hope's three experienced build leaders Michael Amish, Ryan Scott, and Chris Fillie plan to finish one house that was previously started and complete two more.

The trip leaders will be returning on March 14th where they will be preparing to submit their application to the second round of the Cade Innovation Grant where they have been chosen as the top 16 candidates out of 94 applicants.

Look for blog updates next week on the ground in Jacmel as they build more disaster-resistant, sustainable, sustainable housing for those still left without shelter over one year after the devasting earthquake hit that killed over 200,000.
