Dangerously organic!

Getting Itchy + Not liking the Contemporary Airline Industry = A Road Trip in the making

There I times when things line up in one's life and sort of lay out our plans for us.  As if I can't make a decision on my own or simply say no to some things/people.
So after years of avoiding the east coast...having said I didn't want to fly east since 9/11; the familial guilt is setting in a bit (I'm Jewish, it happens).  That and social networking.  It seems that I have a 30th high school reunion going on for Thanksgiving weekend.  Then by sheer coincidence,  Bob Weir and Phil Lesh are going to be on the road with Further shows...Nov 8 to 21, Minneapolis to NYC.  They had just been out here at Red Rocks and some friends shared an idea for a new spoof t-shirt with me, and well what do you know...I decided to get my Vdub camper fired up and will get some shirts printed and hit the road.
I still need to do some planning, but in general, two weeks for the drive with 9 city stops and 11 concert nights.  (Go to http://www.furthur.net/) for show dates and stuff.)
I'm 48, but still like to think that I have not changed much over the years and well when the stars line up and seem to be telling you something...maybe its time to take notice.
I don't have many close friends who have the freedom to take off like I do. So I posted an event gig on Craig's List here in Boulder (http://boulder.craigslist.org/evg/1995897786.html) to see if I might find some kindred spirits to share the journey with.
If things work well, I will get to Philly almost a week befor a turkey fest and also have some extra dough in my pocket to ease the pains that a Fall road trip may have me enduring.  I have thought ahead somewhat...I'll be selling a long sleeve T since the season calls for it.
I'll post a photo and links when the shirts are ready.
And I'll try to share stories from the road.  To be sure, it should be fun on the way east and an adventure on the return trip...as I may go to the Florida Keys for 3 months afterward or if I feel the water temps are too cool in the winter down there...I may end up in the Yucatan on a beach til March.
I gave up a lease this summer so I really don't have a place to return to till I'm good and ready for the next growing season of Dangerously Organic Farming here on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.

Sounds like a great trip. You'd probably like Cedar Key in FL, on the Gulf Coast.
