Hooray! It's a full moon tonight. And, Sh'mal tells me he's already gotten a head start on Fall planting in his garden in Seattle.<br />

Here's what the Daikon radish looked like last year when Sh'mal first gave me his plot at McRorie Garden in Gainesville.<br />

We collected some seeds. Sh'mal said he'd been planting these seeds for years.<br />
<p style="text-align:left"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2353/2353283726_cab17105a2.jpg?v=0"/></p>
This is Sh'mal the day I met him. We were talking about these Daikon seeds that day!<br />
<p style="text-align:left"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2255/2398741477_41ee3b8209.jpg?v=0"/></p>

<br />
<p style="text-align:left"><img width="450" height="600" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/2310077407?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024"/></p>

And, here they are in a plastic container, ready to germinate. <a href="http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/gardening-how-to/cheap-seed-starting-how-to-germinate-seeds-at-home.htm" target="_blank">This</a> article has a good description of how to do it. But, basically, put some seeds on a damp towel in a warm, dimly lit place. Wait a little while and they'll sprout.
