With the assistance of a friend, I’ve begun brewing Kombucha Tea, a fermented tea with many perceived health benefits. It has been consumed for centuries across China, Russia and the surrounding areas. While I’ve now read much on Kombucha, I’ve yet to prepare my own. Hence, I won’t be talking about the brewing process until I’ve done it myself. I will soon begin bottling, where the tea goes through a second fermentation and becomes carbonated… Continue
Thank you to Michael for creating such a beautiful site. I felt this post would be appropriate for my introduction to the community. Much more will follow, I'm sure.
The meaning of life, as I've come to understand it, is to learn and act on what you learn.
Refocusing your concentration will help you in achieving goals.
Write down what you learn. It helps reinforce new ideas.
Hi Zach, Thanks for joining Environmental Zoo. I'll be looking forward to your input. It's great to be able to share with one another, gain new ideas and insights and help make the planet a little better by doing our part. Blessings my friend.
I just read Affirmation Zoo and left my comment at the end of it along with my invitations to you to be my friend and join Environmental Zoo.. I love what you wrote (you wrote it on my birthday, by the way). I wasn't a member yet and just now came across this. Wonderful!
I just checked West Coast airfares and thought of you. My next stops in Oregon are the coast and Seaside Hostel, Eugene to see the university, Bend to see my friend's property and the area, and the list goes on and on.
Hey! Good to hear from you!
Thanks for your concern. Yes things could be better but I try to convince myself that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and I feel that I've learned a lot while going through all these hardships. I definitely hope to be able to move to Portland in '09 and I make it my goal.
Hope we'll get to hang out again sometime.
Oh I wish I was still in Portland, but I'm in lame Bloomington. I know that Mike is or will be in Portland again. I'm kind of jealous to be honest. How were your last days in Portland before taking off for Boyseeee? The coast was very nice. Good to see you on here!
Hi Zach, and welcome to Zoobird. That's an excellent picture of you, by the way. Congrats on the white water rafting and I agree it's a good thing to learn how to work on bikes.
On a side note since you mentioned you loved Wikipedia, I interviewed Brion Vibber, CTO of Wikipedia on Swampcast.
I will be back in Portland next week! I found some cheap tickets and couldn't pass it up. You'll see a few Hawthorne Hostel alumnus on Zoobird if you look around. Gabby and Robby just went to Seaside Hostel on the coast yesterday. Zach (bike rider) hasn't surfaced yet. Joanna is here! Happy is hovering, but not in yet. Take a look around. I suspect you'll like what you see. I am so glad you decided to check in and stay in touch.

All's well,
