About Camellia Sinensis

Tea refers to the agricultural products of the leaves, leaf buds, and internodes of Camellia sinensis, prepared and cured by various methods. "Tea" also refers to the aromatic beverage prepared from such cured leaves by combination with hot or boiling water and the colloquial name for the Camellia sinensis plant itself.

Tea is the most widely-consumed beverage after water. It has a cooling, slightly bitter, astringent flavor.

The four types of tea most commonly found on the market are black tea, oolong tea, green tea and white tea, all of which can be made from the same bushes, processed differently, and in the case of fine white tea, grown differently. Pu-erh tea, a double-fermented black tea, is also often classified as among the most popular types of tea.

Grow Your Own Spring Salad Mix | Garden Guides

If you're craving fresh greens and horrifed by supermarket prices, why not grow your own? Nothing tastes fresher and sweeter than a spring salad just picked from your own windowsill or garden. The best time to harvest Mesclun is early in the morning before the sun is high; heat causes wilting. Start harvesting when the greens are two inches long, never letting them get more than six inches tall; use scissors to snip them off just above the growing crowns (about one inch above the soil level). This is called the cut-and-come-again method because the crop will grow back; if you water and lightly fertilize after harvesting, the greens should be ready for harvest again soon.

What Is Kombucha?

Kombucha is a living health drink made by fermenting tea and sugar with the kombucha culture. The result can taste like something between sparkling apple cider and champagne, depending on what kind of tea you use. It's not what you'd imagine fermented tea to taste like.

Masticating Juicer

A masticating juicer is the answer to every juicing problem. Because it operates on the mastication process, this type of juicer chews the fibers and breaks up the cells of vegetables and fruits. This give you more fiber, enzymes, vitamins and trace minerals. This all results in the darker, richer color of the juice and a sweeter, richer more full-bodied flavor.
