Can you believe it's August? It's been a great summer. We still have nearly a whole month until the weather even shows a hint of cooling down. I went through my patch and did some serious weeding before hitting the road last month for the west coast. I predict the collards, cabbage, chives, potatoes, and mint have been culled by Eric, my kimchi making friend. At least, I hope so.

I've been out in Berkeley and Portland for the past month or so. The gardens there are fantastic. So are the dishes those folks concoct using the tasty proceeds from mother earth. I took a few photos and wrote down some new recipes I'll share with you as time goes on.

Meanwhile, stay tuned for the photos. I traveled without my laptop for the first time ever. All I brought was my iPhone. It's chock full of pictures of community gardens, potlucks and other inspiring stuff.
