The Ciöcc is a beautiful Italian bike that was designed by frame maker Giovanni Pelizzoli. The factory was founded 60 years ago in Mozzo, Italy. Ciöcc means "poker faced" in Italian slang...
Ciöcc is pronounced like "chee-OH'-ch". The frame is steel, which is much more comfortable on cobblestones you find in the streets of Italian… Continue

I dropped by 8th Ave Bikes and Coffee this weekend. I'm calling it 8BC from now on, because I'll be talking abut the good vibes, Italian steel, and legendary frames to my friends.
The Hawthorne Hostel in Portland, OR is one of my favorite placs. Why? Because on any given day, it's buzzing with people looking for good times, excellent conversation, and the whole structure works as a eco-friendly place. It's got an earthen roof, rain barrels, tents out back for the folks with lesser income, and great buffets on Sundays called Gracie's Lunch.
Every city should have a Hawthorne Hostel. Check out some other cool… Continue

It was in Florida, at least. So, I drove up the coast of the panhandle to Freeport, FL and wound up getting it. To me, riding a bike is a lucky situation that I can take advantage of because I am usually within biking… Continue

Yesterday, the travel bug bit and I drove up the panhandle coast of Florida to explore what some say are the best beaches in the world. I stopped at Mexico Beach and was struck by the Caribbean blue water, white sand and calmness of the area.
I picked up a couple of shells to admire. They were a bit different than the East coast shells of Miami shores.
The sand… Continue

Why bicycle commute? Save money on gas, relax both your sphincter and your environmental footprint, and just have fun in general. You might have reasons not to bicycle commute like “I can’t run around sweaty at work”, “It’s not feasible to ride the distance to work”, or “I’m in no shape to bicycle commute” if you don’t commute already. With a little planning and ingenuity you too can join the ranks of the commuters or forge our own trail and be a code…
I was browsing craigslist for bikes and ran across a "locally made" Villin fixie for $1200 "originally $1700". "Hmmm," says I. "What is this shop called Villin?" So, I googled Villin and found http://www.villincycleworks.com/ I read Villin's philosophy: "Consider purpose. Since the industrial revolution, workers have…

it was raining. and it was windy. somewhat autumny feeling in the air.
reminded myself that perhaps a mudguard on the rear would not neccessarily harm me.
