Very cool...I would like to see a tire house too. This is just an introduction to how to do it...a discussion really, the hands- on workshop will come in early March and will ultimately build something out of town on some land...will keep you posted. Check out this link it's of an eartrh bag home in Haiti built by a religious brother down there and it is still standing post-quake.

Hi Michael - this looks so exciting. Could you see building an earth bag home in Gainesville, or if zoning restrictions prohibited it, I bet just outside the city limits...that would be my first question. I've seen earth ships made of old tires in New Mexico and of rocks in the side of hills in Crestone, CO. The ships in Crestone were pretty plush! I'll dig up the photos I took...
